FIELD TRIAL SEASON

SET TO BEGIN

Spruce Brook Bird Dog Club will hold its annual fall horseback field trial on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20-21, at Flaherty Field Trial Area, East Windsor, CT.

Drawing will be  held Thursday, Aug. 18 at 8 p.m. at the home of chairman Don Gustafson (860)491-2365 or (860) 601-0212.

Judges include John Malone, Aidan Malone, Don Gustafson, Dan Grabowski, Keith Cagle, Ed Marin, Alene LeVasseur and Kacey LeVasseur. Stakes will start at 7 a.m.

On Sunday, Aug. 21, Northeast Field Trial Association will hold a one-day walking trial at Arcadia Management Area. Judges will be announced. Drawing will be held Friday, Aug. 19, at 8 p.m. at the home of the chairman, Richard Giuliano, P.O. Box 80, Hope, RI 02831, (401) 647-3429. Stakes will start at 6 a.m.

The Inez C. and Elwin G. Smith Shooting Dog Classics and accompanying Open Derby Classic will be held from Aug. 26 to Sept. 1 at Flaherty Field Trial Area, East Windsor, CT.

Judges for the Elwin G. Smith Memorial Amateur Shooting Dog Classic will be George Tracy of Glenville, PA, and Brian Sullivan of Dillon, SC. Judges for the Inez C. Smith Open Shooting Dog Classic will be Brian Sullivan and Ralph Gillota of Medina, OH. Sullivan and Gillota will also judge the Open Derby Classic.
