AMATEUR HORSEBACK

 SHOOTING DOG CHAMPIONSHIP

Drawing for order of running for the 2011 Region 1 Amateur Horseback Shooting Dog Championship will be held Wednesday, April 20, at 8 p.m. at the home of the chairman, Jeff Smith, of Loudon, N.H.

The championship will be held April 22-24, 2011, at Flaherty Field Trial Area, East Windsor, CT. Start date will depend on the the number of entries.

The championship is sponsored by Associated Field Trial Clubs of Connecticut.

Stakes start daily at 8 a.m. with one-hour, single-course heats on liberated quail, native woodcock and pheasants.

Entry fee is $100.

Judges are Kellie Short of Buxton, ME, and Steve Merton of Manchester, CT.

Qualifications: AFTCA Win Certificate in a derby or shooting dog stake

2010 Region 1 AHSD Champion Great River Magnum with Brian Sanchez and Casey Foster.

Social: Saturday night cocktail hour hosted by Brian Sanchez, owner of 2010 Champion Great River Magnum
