KLEE'S
HANDSOME HANK
WINS
NEW ENGLAND
OPEN
RUNNER UP
IS GREAT RIVER ICE
POMFRET, Conn. -- The winner of the 2013 New England Open Championship from a field of 21 dogs is Klee's Handsome Hank. Runnerup is Great River Ice. Both are pointer males, both are handled by Mike Tracy. Hank is owned by Susan and Roger Duerksen and Ice by Great River Kennels. The event was held Oct. 21-22 at Ragged Hill Farm.
Hank who was the winner in 2011 and the runnerup in 2012, had seven finds and a forward race. Ice, who was the runnerup in 2011 and the champion in 2012, had five finds, one unproductive. His race, while strong, didn't match the runnerup's. Both dogs, according to judges, are exceptional examples of what a champion shooting dog should be.
