Rhode Island's Kelsey Dellenger turned 14 on April 27, 2013. When her parents asked what she'd like to do for her birthday, she replied that she'd like to go to New Hampshire and run her setter, Allie, in the Northern New Hampshire spring trial.
What a birthday present Kelsey got when judges announced on Saturday that Allie had taken second place in the White Mountain Open Derby Classic! Kelsey's dad, Lanny, says that Kelsey was more than a little excited about sharing the winning ribbons with pro handler Dave Hughes. [Studley and Dutch were handled by Hughes on Saturday.] On Sunday, the placements in the amateur derby were repeated, with Lloyd Murray taking first with Long Gone Studley, Kelsey taking second with Allie, and Terry taking third with Dutch.
Nice job once again, Kelsey!
